Photo of the Svea Glacier in Spitsbergen in full sun
Typical arctic landscape

View of the Svea Glacier under the Spitsbergen sun and observed from our base camp on a black sand beach. Svea is about 5 km wide, oscillates between 40 and 60m high and proved to be a great playground during this polar raid since it kept letting a quantity of ice come off to form icebergs and icicles. among which we sailed in sea kayaking. Pure happiness!
