Travel to Costa rica

Costa rica wildlife photos

Costa rica has got numerous protected areas (25% of territory) which enables animals to live quietly. The country represents a shelter for some 15000 butterflies species, 800 birds species and a lot of reptiles and mammals.
In dense areas like rainforests, it is quite difficult to see animals, you can ear them but hardly see them. Luckily, we managed to spot some of them like sloths, blue-jean frogs, toucans and parrots...

It is in Santa Elena rain forest that we spotted many birds and butterflies. And along Tarcoles river many crocodiles, iguanas or crabs.

To get a chance to see a sloth, the best place is Manual Antonio national park.
Finally, along the road we often spotted coatis and even racoons.
