Pelican caught while fishing

Most of the time pelicans don't catch a fish at first attempt. It takes maybe 5 to 7 tries before success. I enjoyed watching pelican's technique for fishing. These five photos illustrate the different phases of the pelican flight for food. Airborne, the flight to locate the fish, the nose dive, the impact and how pelican swallows its prey.
