Penguin jumping out of water

When adults penguins go fishing they swim very far and stay away for several hours in order to catch as much food as necessary for their chicks ans themselves. However penguins can't stay indefinitely under water. They have to breathe from time to time jumping out of the water opening their beak to breathe.
This photo was taken at the exact moment when the penguin got out of the water, opening its beak to breathe.
But jumping like that is also a strategy when they are chased by leopard seal as the predators are destabilized.
I recently learned that this behavior is called porpoising that is to say jumping out of the waves or simply the water.
