Close shot on a whale caudal fin

This is a show I never got fed up with! When humpback whales dive deeply into the freezing Antarctic ocean their caudal fin is the only surfacing part left. It lifts up in slow motion like whipping the air and finally disappears. It's fantastic! The movement seems so gentle that one can hardly see splashes. This is one of the reasons why I was not afraid to remain close to whales while sitting in my frail kayak surrounded by ice cubes and cold antarctic water.
