Gentoo penguin female looking after her chick while the male went fishing in the icy waters of Antarctica. Unlike adults, penguin chicks would not survive very long in cold water because of their juvenile down which is not waterproof. Moreover, penguin chicks are defenseless regarding the numerous predators like the skuas
