Photo of the Campanile which sits on Saint Mark's Square in Venice and which offers a breathtaking view of the city of the Doges. The first campanile which was built in 1173 had the role of guiding the sailors of the lagoon. Over the years and earthquakes, the building deteriorated then was restored in the 16th century before collapsing in 1902.
The new bell tower was rebuilt exactly on the site of the old one and according to its model in 1912. It is 96 meters high.
