Curious whale popping its head out of water

Unusual photo of the head of a whale in the Antarctic ocean. A few minutes after we got into the zodiacs to explore the shore we spotted a humpback whale that we decide to observe. Suprisingly this one surfaced head first. So far I only happened to see caudal fins when the whales went for deep drive. Does it mean this whale was more curious than the others?
