Francolin at a puddle

The francolin is a sort of partridge living in austral Africa. This francolin, not impressed at all, came very close to us making it easy to picture while camping in Kalahari desert Botswana.
I was amazed by the yellow of its eyes and the reddish beak, turning a common francolin into an interesting bird as far as photo is concerned. Especially when the late afternoon sunrays put the francolin's head into relief. Apart from that I don't have much to say about francolin. It was my first encounter with this animal and I enjoyed taking the photo.
