Antarctica peninsula

First glimpse of Antarctica at sunrise
02/44

Early morning of the fourth day after we left Ushuaïa, antarctica peninsula finally appeared before my eyes wide open. I took the photo purposely as I saw the first Antarctic ice shelves although backlighting makes it difficult to see things. It is 6.30am, the weather is lovely but freezing. I couldn't help watching all around me this beautiful scenery, forgetting the cold and enjoying the view. Suddenly I spotted a blow coming from a whale, actually not less than six whales were escorting the ship as if to welcome us in Antarctica.
One of the best wake-up call of my life!
