Spending a weekend is a suitable formula because it is quite possible to visit Venice in 2 days by taking your time. For example, you can spend the first day walking through the streets of the city, Saint Mark's Square, the Bridge of Sighs and admire the campanile (you can even climb there for a splendid view) or the Doge's Palace ... without forgetting to take a gondola ride! The second day can be devoted to visiting the islands of Burano and Murano.
A weekend allows you, in complete tranquility, to enjoy the essentials of this romantic Italian town.
