Hawaii travelogue day 2 Oahu island
Hanauma bay
After an early morning due to the jetlag we picked up the car and headed South-East to Hanauma bay, famous for its clear waters, coral reef and multicoloured fishes. But bad luck, the acces to the bay are closed on tuesdays and guess what... today is tuesday!
Surfers paradise
Never mind, we continue to explore the island heading North where we expect to see high waves and surfers. On our way we stopped at Kailua beach located in a wide bay with turquoise waters and white sand where many people were kite surfing.
And it's at Sunset beach that we saw the biggest waves that surfers didn't hesitate to surf. Very impressing!
Back to Waikiki by 5pm we spent the rest of the day enjoying the sun on waikiki beach.
