Photo of a spoonbill

The beak of the spoonbill looks like a spoon

Spoonbill are named after the shape of their beak which looks like a spoon. It enables them to easily catch their preys by opening it in the water then closing it whenever it feels something.
The spoonbill on the photo made a feast as preys were everywhere in this swamp of the Okavango in Botswana. I like the contrast on this spoonbill photo between the white body of the bird and the deep green of the swamp. Did you notice that the area around the eyes of the spoonbill is red?
