Awkward position of the giraffe when it drinks

Giraffe is a very tall animal with a head swinging several meters above the ground. Therefore when it comes to drinking its a challenge as the giraffe's head can't lower to ground level.
That's why the giraffe has to perform a real balancing act by spreading and benting its two front legs in order to reach the water. The giraffe is then in a characteristic but vulnerable position. Most of the attacks by predators occur while giraffes are drinking.
We were waiting near this waterhole of Etosha game reserve in Namibia hoping to take pictures of wild animals willing to escape the heat when the giraffe slowly approached and started to drink.
