Serengeti park

Whoever has already watched TV reports on wildlife has heard of Serengeti national park of Tanzania and the wilderbeest migration.

This parc created in 1951 is more than 14000 km² and is set between 920 and 1850m high. The best season to discover Serengeti is from december to june with a peak in may when thousands of gnous (around 1,3 millions in fact) gather to start their migration looking for new places to graze.

N'gorongoro crater

This protected land of more than 8288 km² is now listed UNESCO World Heritage site. This is where the gnous gather each year before their migration northbound.

N'gorongoro crater is actually a caldera (a volcano which exploded). Only the foothills remain from the ancient cone. They surround an area of 260 km². This exceptional shelter attracts all sorts of mammals creating a spectacular show unique in Africa.

Zanzibar

Zanzibar is actually made of two islands East of Tanzania: Pemba and Unguja. The latter is identified as Zanzibar.

The beaches of Zanzibar are among the most beautiful of Africa. One curiosity of Zanzibar is that everything can grow in the land.

Tourists often come to Zanzibar for a seaside tour or on a one day trip from Kenya or Tanzania.
