Photo of a bunch of vultures
The vultures are the cleaners of the bush

We finally came back one last time to check what was left of the dead zebra. On the third day, the vultures replaced the jackals to clean the carcass, only leaving skin and bones.
The role of vultures is paramont in the bush as their body is able to assimilate deadly germs and viruses. By eating the rotten flesh, they help get rid of the deseases.
When they feast on a dead animal, the vultures plunge head first in their victim's stomach, hence the red head of thevulture in the center of the photo.
This must be the dominant male as the other patiently wait for him to step away: there is a well respected hierarchy in vultures society.
