To get a chance to take a picture of the whole golden gate bridge you definitely must be far from it. Otherwise it doesn't fit in the frame. My favorite way of getting close to the golden gate bridge is to rent a bicycle and freely enjoy the outskirsts of San francisco until you reach the bridge.
