This bird is not sheltered in Iguazu falls national park but it can be observed in the nearby bird park (brasilian side). In the wild, it is mainly seen in Amazonia.
Unfortunately, as often, the beauty of the macaw is its worst enemy. Indeed, poachers don't hesitate to trap as many birds as possible to sell them on the black market. The blue and yellow macaw is more than ever an endangered species.
