4x4 Toyota Hilux double cab équipé camping

Pour louer le 4x4 nous avons contacté une agence de voyage d'Afrique du sud (RCJM) via Internet. Notre but était de réserver le 4x4 pour qu'il soit disponible à notre arrivée. La transaction s'est effectuée par Internet (échange d'e-mails) et l'autorisation de prélèvement des R19515 s'est faite par fax. Il est à noter que le fait de laisser le 4x4 à Windhoek au lieu de Johannesbourg nous a coûté R4500 de plus que les R15015 initialement prévus. Il n'y a pas eu de problèmes ni avant, ni pendant ni après la location. Nous avons eu un problème technique en Namibie mais le garage qui a effectué la réparation est entré en contact téléphonique avec l'agence Avis et nous n'avons rien eu à payer.

What does the daily rental charge include?

What does the daily rental charge exclude?
(the rental company will charge the renter directly for any of the below charges)
* Fuel
* Deposit for non-waiverable excess which is refunded if there is no damage or theft (see Excess in table)
* R350 deposit for fuel
* R20 contract fee per rental
* R75 per additional driver per rental
* R30 per day if renter is below 23yr provided renter has been in possession of a valid drivers license for 2 years (not applicable with AVIS rentals)
* R80 per child seat per rental
* R250 per second spare wheel
* R80 for roof rack (only certain models)
* R200 one way rental fee for rentals terminating in SA at a location 150km away from the original renting branch
* R60 charge for delivery or collection within office hours (R120 for after hours, weekends and holidays) for vehicles that are to be delivered to or collected from a location other than the rental branches (e.g. hotel) within a radius of 25 km of the rental station.
* R2.50 per km will be charged for deliveries or collections that are outside a 25km radius of the rental station.
* Extension rates, which are available on request
* Water and under carriage damage to vehicles
* R500 deposit for mobile phone (if you require a phone)
* Mobile phone call charges at about R2.70 for national calls and R14-22 for international calls

What are the terms and conditions of the rental?
RCJM Travel and Tours merely acts as an agent for the rental companies. When picking up your car, you will have to complete and sign a rental agreement with the rental company. The rental is subject to the rental company's rental agreement which is subject to change without prior notice. The rental is further subject to the conditions listed below, please read those carefully.

How do I pay for the car rental?
The sum of the daily rental cost is pre-payable to RCJM Travel & Tours at least one month prior to the start of the rental. With your confirmation you will receive a credit card authorisation form via email for you to print out, complete and fax back to us. You will not be required to send credit card information to us via email. Everything that is excluded from the daily rental cost will be charged to your credit card by the rental company when you return your car. When you pick up your car, the rental company will put a hold on your credit card for the amount of the deposit and the non-waivable excess - without charging your card for it.

Can I pay my rental with cash or transfer the money electronically?
It is possible to hire the smaller cars with cash but it is not worthwhile. Cash deposit amounts are relatively high and the rental companies will only refund the deposits a couple of weeks after the rental has terminated. The deposit will only be paid into your bank account. What payments to RCJM Travel & Tours are concerned, you are welcome to do these by electronic bank transfer.

What is the minimum rental age?
If you are younger than 23 years of age you are allowed to rent a car provided that you have been in possession of a valid drivers license for more than 2 years. With Europcar you will pay an extra R30 per day if you are younger than 23 and with AVIS you are required to produce either an American Express or Diners card.

Do I need an international driver's license?
Only if your license does not have an English translation.

Can I cancel my car rental?
Yes, you can cancel your car rental up until 24 hours prior to the start of your rental. All cancellations have to be in writing. All amounts already paid to us will be FULLY refunded LESS an administration fee of R100.

Can I change my reservation before picking -up my car?
You are welcome to make changes to your rental provided you contact us at least 24 hours prior to the start of your rental. Changes in car categories or rental period are subject to availability of vehicles. An administration fee of R100 will be charged for changes made to already confirmed reservations.

Can I extend a rental after I have picked up the car?
Yes, to extend your rental you have to contact RCJM Travel & Tours at least 48 hours prior to the end of your original rental. The total rental cost will then be re-calculated based on our published rates. If you fail to extend your rental with RCJM, or if you extend your rental directly with the rental company, you will be charged the rental company's extension rates which are much higher than our published rates. Any extension is subject to an authorisation of the rental company. An administration fee of R100 will be charged for extensions.

Can I return the car earlier and will I get a refund?
If you drop-off your car before your rental ends, you can apply to RCJM Travel & Tours in writing for a refund of the unused days. Refunds are calculated on the basis of actual days rented at our published rates. An administration fee of R100 and an amount equal to a full day's rental cost will be deducted from your refund.

What happens if I do not pick up my car at all (no show)?
If you do not pick up your car rental on the day your rental starts you can apply in writing to RCJM Travel & Tours for a refund of your rental cost. The total cost will then be refunded to you less an administration fee of R100 and an amount equal to a full day's rental cost.

Can I earn frequent flyer miles?
Unfortunately not as our rates are already discounted.

Are the insurances against theft and damage included?
Yes, all insurances against theft and damage are included in the daily rental cost.

What is the Non Waivable Excess?
This is the maximum amount you will be liable for in case of damage or theft. If the damage is lower than the non waivable excess, you will be charged the lower amount.

Can I take the car across the border?
Only certain vehicles are allowed to be taken across the border. You must notify RCJM Travel & Tours at the time of reservation if you intend to travel across the border. For each country that you will be entering we have to arrange the necessary papers before you pick up your car. Should damage or theft occur in an authorised cross border country, the excess of that country will apply. Further insurance charges may apply for certain vehicle groups. Details on cross border travelling and over border one way rentals are available on request.
